The Seoul Metropolitan Government has launched a project to support North Korean defectors to settle down and find employment in Seoul. Those eligible for support are those who wish to obtain a driver's license (Class 1 Ordinary) and a nursing assistant license, and up to 1 million won will be provided for the tuition fees required to obtain the license. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from October to December 2024, and you must submit the relevant documents after obtaining the license.
After obtaining the license, you can submit the driver's license school tuition or the nursing assistant course training fee along with supporting documents to the local adaptation center in your jurisdiction. Required documents include a copy of the license, a copy of the bankbook, a copy of the ID card, and a receipt that can prove the payment of the tuition. North Korean defectors who are interested in this support program are encouraged to apply quickly.
