The Overseas Koreans Agency announced that it will begin a survey on the demand for rental housing for Sakhalin Koreans and their families residing in South Korea from October 28 to November 15. Through this survey, Koreans who live away from their parents or who are inconvenienced by being assigned to small houses will be given the opportunity to move to larger and more convenient housing.
Here are the eligible applicants!
- Contractors who receive permanent repatriation and settlement support and live in rental housing in accordance with the Special Act on Support for Sakhalin Compatriots
- Korean citizens who have lived in rental housing for more than one year
- A person who is a resident of a rental home and does not own a home but meets income and asset requirements
However, Sakhalin compatriots who have not acquired Korean citizenship are excluded from this application.
Compatriots who wish to move can apply in person at the headquarters of the Korean Red Cross or by mail. Through this opportunity, those who were initially assigned a small house and were uncomfortable living away from their family can resolve this inconvenience and freely choose the complex and housing area they want. The Overseas Compatriots Agency announced that it plans to improve the living environment and quality of life of Sakhalin compatriots through this rental housing relocation project.
