In order to apply for the social integration program, you must join the Ministry of Justice's social integration information network and apply for the test. However, during this 7th evaluation, a problem was discovered while helping the test takers. The system was set up so that Sakhalin compatriots who had been judged as nationals were not registered in the social integration program.
Here, we appealed to the part that said, “Even if our Sakhalin compatriots are granted citizenship, they do not know the Korean language or culture, which is the same as other immigrants, so giving them the same opportunities is in line with the purpose of this program,” and won the sympathy of the Ministry of Justice. We also sent an official document internally, and as a result, we changed the law to allow Sakhalin compatriots to register in the Social Integration Information Network!
Accordingly, four Sakhalin compatriots from the Onehada Korean Language School are scheduled to apply for the 8th test on November 12th.
We will continue to help our fellow countrymen to more easily take on social integration programs and settle well into Korean society. We will always be with our fellow countrymen on their settlement journey!
