Hanbok Culture Week is a nationwide hanbok culture event held every year in the third week of October to promote hanbok, which embodies our style and tradition, and to spread the culture of wearing hanbok in everyday life.


During the 2024 Hanbok Culture Week, you can enjoy the joy of Hanbok culture in your daily life through various Hanbok culture programs such as exhibitions, fashion shows, performances, Hanbok award ceremonies, and experiences at major locations across the country, including the Seoul Museum of Crafts, Changgyeonggung Palace, and the Blue House.

The 2024 Hanbok Culture Week Hanbok Forum will be held for the general public under the theme of “Hanbok’s Past and Present: Cultural Identity and Modern Utilization.” We will explore the history of Hanbok as a traditional Korean costume and its utilization in modern society, and establish a strategy to preserve the original form of Hanbok while continuing it to suit the present. Various presentations and comprehensive discussions will be held at the Hanbok Forum for the expansion and industrial promotion of the Hanbok industry.

The 2024 Hanbok Culture Week Hanbok Special Exhibition 'Touch_See' is an exhibition that shows the daily lives of ordinary people who made hanbok with fabric by photographer Kim Young-il and textile designer Jang Eung-bok, as well as photos and videos recorded over the past 10 years. It also displays po, wonsam, and shrouds that have been used as hanbok has changed from traditional to modern times and have become part of our lives. Through this exhibition, we hope to communicate with the public the records of changes from the past to the present.

During the 2024 Hanbok Culture Week, the <Traditional Hanbok Lifetime Ritual> exhibition will be held at the Chunchugwan of the Blue House to provide opportunities to enjoy Hanbok and traditional culture. This exhibition will introduce 20 Hanbok types to visitors, allowing them to look into the meaning of clothing in traditional ceremonies throughout our lives and feel the culture and beauty contained within them. We hope you will come see us.

We are holding an event where the beauty of our Hanbok and the traditional beauty of the palace come together on a fall day, the season of the thousand-year-old paralysis. We are offering an opportunity to wear the correct Hanbok and take a photo of your life at the Changgyeonggung Palace Environment Hall. Please wear accessories that match the traditional Hanbok for men, women, and children and walk on the autumn leaves to create precious memories.

We hope to contribute to the formation of positive awareness of Hanbok culture during childhood and to enable children to create special memories with their parents and friends through Hanbok.
